When we think of key contributors to health care, we often think of doctors, nurses, and scientists. While they are integral to health care, other fields also make important contributions. One surprising group of contributors is artists. Although artists aren’t actively doing edge-cutting research or performing life-saving injuries, artists contribute to health care through various subtle but important means.
Artists often make infographics that help inform patients. Artists often make brochures, pamphlets, charts, illustrations, and other important designs that educate patients. Artists help make the science behind health more approachable for the everyday person.
Artists also design branding that make healthcare seem more approachable and trustworthy. Artists create various logos and color schemes to brand certain healthcare facilities as professional and trustworthy. This helps boost the reputation and recognition of certain healthcare providers, making it easier for patients to reach out to them.
Overall, although the work of artists in healthcare is much more subtle, it still enhances patient experience and improves healthcare. Artists help inform patients and brand healthcare to make it more approachable.
