Our Story
In 2023, inspired by a personal experience with his grandfather’s battle against stage three prostate cancer, Tristan Hwang founded Beacon of Resilience, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving and supporting individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and cancer in the local community. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by patients, particularly those hindered by racial, geographic or socioeconomic barriers, Tristan’s passion for healthcare improvement led him to establish an organization that not only provides financial and emotional support but also raises awareness among volunteers seeking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these patients. Beacon of Resilience endeavors to tackle global healthcare disparities by inspiring patients to surpass the limitations imposed by their diagnoses. With a strong network of volunteers and community support, the organization works to address this global issue, promoting resilience, dignity, and hope in the face of challenging health conditions.
